Community
FedEx believes strong communities are built on inclusiveness and we support organizations that advance the needs of diverse communities.
We are a group as diverse as the world that we serve. Our collective strength enables us to provide people around the world with the connections they need to improve their lives. To do so, FedEx supports numerous organizations and programs that promote human rights and equality in our communities.
National Civil Rights Museum
FedEx proudly serves as a major corporate sponsor of the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tenn. The National Civil Rights Museum exists to help the public understand the lessons of the civil rights movement and its impact and influence on the human rights movement worldwide. Most recently, we helped fund the Exploring the Legacy project, which expanded exhibit space by almost 13,000 square feet. FedEx also sponsors the Museum’s Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the Annual Freedom Awards. The Freedom Awards honor those who have made significant accomplishments in the areas of civil and human rights.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial
FedEx has donated $1 million to help erect the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C., to commemorate the life and work of the civil rights leader. The memorial honors Dr. King’s national and international contributions to world peace through nonviolent social change. The monument is being built on a four-acre site near the Lincoln Memorial, where Dr. King delivered his famous “I Have A Dream” speech.
